Akrotiri
One of the most significant locations of Santorini, due to the findings of the Prehistoric Settlement of Akrotiri, an entire city that was covered by lava after the volcanic eruption that reshaped the island 3.500 years ago. Today you will wander among the perfectly preserved buildings that it is hard to believe they remained intact after such a catastrophe. Close to the village lie the Red Beach and the Akrotiri Lighthouse, both amazing locations to watch the setting sun.
